Having your own affiliate program is an excellent way to get links to your website and substantially increase your sales. This gives people an excellent reason to link to you - they’re going to earn money!
You can potentially generate 100’s to 1000’s of links to your website this way. If you have a website that sells a product or service, consider offering a commission via an affiliate program.
It’s important to know that not all affiliate software will be counted as a link to your site. This may be ok for you if you just want to increase your income, but why not build up your search engine ranking at the same time?
Also, take into consideration that managing your own affiliate program will take some time and you will have a new responsibility – paying your affiliates.
You can use an affiliate network to manage your affiliate program, but the downside is that the links won’t count (they use dynamic links).
If you do want to run your own affiliate program, make sure you do your homework and pick the best one. Here’s a great resource to help you compare and select your program provider.
After you create your affiliate program, be sure to submit to as many affiliate directories as possible. To locate affiliate directories simply search under Google: “submit affiliate program”, “affiliate program” + “submit” and some of the other variations that I covered in the reciprocal links chapter.
