As search engine algorithms keep changing, so do the strategies we must use in our link building campaigns. If you too have been “Google slapped”, then you know what I mean.
The Old System:
Get thousands of [TAG-Tec]One Way Links[/TAG-Tec] to your homepage: This may still work on Yahoo! who is a bit behind but probably not for long. It definitely is not enough to secure your rankings on Google anymore.
Google wants relevancy and has smartened up its algorithm to look at your website as a whole instead of just adding up plus points and minus points.

The New System:
Links from relevant sites going to internal pages in your website. Preferably [TAG-Tec]links[/TAG-Tec] with anchor text. Also, just having an anchor text link isn’t going to do much, your link should be surrounded by some content that is relevant to your site.
Of course, there is much more to it. However if you are still using the “old system” when would now be a good time to get with the new program?
The huge benefit for you is that you will need fewer links to outrank your competitors. With the cost and time involved in getting links, this is good news!
